Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were notified by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Approximately 50 vehicles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; authorities are currently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for tips.

An important political figure commented the vandalism rendered him speechless and had to be solved quickly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the killing of nine people by a shooter aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
